That separation can shorten walking between picks and keep replenishment traffic away from the working face. FIFO movement depends on loading each lane from behind and maintaining the intended SKU assignment. For hospitality supply and e-commerce operations, the useful measure is accessible picks, not simply cartons stored. We're a division of Warehouse Equipment & Supplies Co., supplying and installing since 1997. We plan carton flow racking around container behavior, daily demand and the space needed on both sides of the frame. (407) 743-8726 ## Case flow rack components that govern the pick face Lane width needs enough clearance for a carton to travel without allowing it to drift across its assigned path. Adjustable dividers help separate neighboring SKUs, but their spacing must account for bulging cartons and projecting tote rims. Our carton flow equipment guide (https://orlandowarehouseracking.com/products/carton-flow-rack) introduces the system before individual lane specifications are selected. Depth should reflect the replenishment cycle. A deep lane allocated to a slow seller may consume room better assigned to an additional fast-moving SKU. Multiple lanes for a high-demand item can preserve the front presentation without making every lane equally deep. 1 ### Container trials Evaluate actual loaded cases and totes, including the lightest package. Base seams, soft cardboard and uneven bottoms can change travel. Set roller spacing and incline from the container behavior rather than assuming every rectangular box rolls alike. 2 ### Reach and presentation Place frequent picks within a practical working range. Review front lips, carton opening and hand clearance together, especially where associates remove individual items rather than lift a complete case from the lane. 3 ### Existing bay conversion A retrofit requires confirmation of frame condition, beam arrangement, connection compatibility and intended loading. Flow inserts do not establish the capacity of the supporting pallet rack, particularly when reserve inventory remains above the picking levels. 4 ### Movement through modules Reserve separate working space for rear loading and front picking. Where several bays form a pick module, include crossings and order transfer points so carts do not queue across active pick locations. ## Orlando carton flow rack layouts for mixed buildings A hospitality supply warehouse around Orlando Central Park may combine reserve pallets with frequent case picks in older space with tight column spacing. A shorter bank of lanes can preserve cross-aisle access where one continuous picking row would interrupt movement. Columns belong on the drawing before lane counts are settled. Along Landstreet Road and Taft-Vineland Road, consider where incoming cases are opened and transferred to replenishment carts. Airport South e-commerce buildings may instead need a broader pick module feeding order consolidation. Our Orlando warehouse coverage (https://orlandowarehouseracking.com/service-area/orlando) connects these local settings; the actual case dimensions determine the roller arrangement. Add the floor plan, column locations and height to the lowest overhead obstruction like lights or ductwork. These inputs let us compare lane counts and picking levels without treating unused height as an automatic storage opportunity. Experienced installation crews we schedule and manage assemble the agreed arrangement, with its supporting rack anchored to the floor. We coordinate working areas around receiving and account for heat in non-AC space. Before regular picking begins, check representative containers through the full lane and confirm rear loading access. Keep reserve storage decisions distinct: pallet flow for Orlando (https://orlandowarehouseracking.com/service-area/orlando/pallet-flow-rack) moves pallet loads through gravity lanes, while Orlando pushback storage (https://orlandowarehouseracking.com/service-area/orlando/pushback-rack) serves deeper pallet storage from one aisle. Neither substitutes for the hand-pick presentation at the case face.
